Following the release of his 2019 album “Gemini,” Lobo re-enters the scene with “Purple Hearts” — a highly anticipated album for all the best reasons possible.

Clocking in at just 8 tracks, this project is the perfect listen for anyone looking for something new with versatility.

The opening track “Purple Hearts” gives the listener a cohesive taste of what’s to come for the rest of the project — with its heavy-hitting 808s and its smooth autotune-riddled vocals. Throughout the 27-minute affair, these two aspects are the things that are consistent; those, and the fact that every track provides a resonating hype feeling

“Barry Bonds” acts as a perfect example of this notion as it embodies nearly everything that this album has to offer.

Contrary to that aforementioned statement, however, there’s “Berserk,” which is significantly slower and laid back, although still implementing elements that give Lobo his signature sound.

“Purple Hearts” overall is an ideal listen, as Lobo provides what is essentially an impeccable project for someone who needs something uplifting and upbeat. Every track is exciting and leaves listeners on the edge of their seat wondering what’s next to come- in the best possible way. With this project, Lobo demonstrates styles and influences not often seen within the scene, all but proving why he is one to keep an eye on as he juggernauts his way through the underground.
