Bp is easily one southern artist you should be paying attention two. He’s serious and motivated to the core. Check out our recent conversation with him below.

Zomb: First things first where are you from and how old are you?

Bp: I’m 21 and i’m originally from Jacksonville Florida but i moved to louisville KENTUCKY when i was 2.

Zomb: So not far of a jump in terms of distance but still noticeable. That’s interesting. What was growing up for you like? Tell us a little about your experience in Louisville.

Bp: It’s been a lot of ups and downs but it’s grown on me. It gave me a chip on my shoulder. I always felt overlooked in my family and in my neighborhood as a kid and it gave me the drive i have today.

Zomb: Yeah for sure I know a lot of people who can relate to that hometown feeling. What was your first exposure to music? Who did you like to listen to growing up?

Bp: My first exposure to music in general was joining band in 6th grade.

I grew up listening to big k.r.i.t
mike Jones
paul wall
lil Wayne
Gucci mane
wiz khalifa was my favorite
and Juicy J

Zomb: Huge huge legends there. Lots of my favorites as well. When did you first decide you wanted to create music and start rapping?

Bp: Me and two of my friends would smoke and rap all the time when i went to college. I was 19 when we bought the mic and started actually recording music together. Our group name is @vizionary_inc

Zomb: Shoutout @vizionary_inc for sure that’s a dope collective background.

When did you realize you wanted to take it seriously?

Bp: Around the end of 2016

Zomb: What are some of your favorite songs you’ve released or recorded?

Bp: Alot of my favorite verses are either really old and off beat or unreleased. I’m getting more comfy in my skin so it’s easier creating now.

Zomb: That’s dope it’s always nice to see someone finding their way.

What are your plans for the rest of the summer and 2018?

Bp: My main goal in 2018 was to gain more exposure and i’m accomplishing it more day by day but I’m working on dropping at least 3 more tapes before year is over.

Zomb: More music is always a plus and I know people are looking forward to it. You were one of @UNDERGROUNDV4MP first YouTube uploads and we hosted a music video for you so tell us a little about your visual process and are you comfortable behind the camera?

Bp: Well man it’s really hard to tell.. i try to use my surroundings as best as possible cause it’s all about expression of art so i’m just being myself in the end.

Zomb: That’s dope I like that vision a lot. You have solid shots so your videos are definitely hard. Who are some artists you want to work with in the future? Big or small?

Bp: I wanna work with guys like cousin stizz maxo kream and drayco McCoy honestly i think all those guys bring heat every time.

Zomb: Honestly you on a track with any of those would be a banger for sure. What do you enjoy outside of music? What keeps you sane and moving when you aren’t making music?

Bp: Usually i just chill and watch old movies with my girl. We’re expecting a kid soon so i’m excited as fuck.

Zomb: Yeah I feel that chill inside vibe a lot. Huge congrats to both you guys though that’s absolutely amazing. Some people take it differently so it’s refreshing to hear you’re excited. Do you think that will motivate you to go harder with music as well?

Bp: Yes that’s actually what’s been pushing me to create more visuals and give my listeners something new to enjoy. I also know what type of benefits my child could have if my craft takes off. So everybody go stream BPTHEGASSGUY on all platforms.

Zomb: That’s so dope. Absolutely go stream that anywhere you can. One of the last questions I had for you was who are your top 5 favorite artists of all time?

Bp: Andre 3000
lil Wayne
Juicy j
Busta rhymes

Zomb: Unbreakable T5 Sometimes people have trouble with that. Any last shout outs or words of motivation before we sign off?

Bp – Na bro thanks for having me honestly. I appreciate the opportunity.

Zomb – Yeah it was our pleasure UVC definitely keeping an eye on @BptheGassGuy and keep us posted on anything new. Keep going hard in 2018.
